This song was written for the Moccasin Flats television show in 2003. I get asked a lot about this song. I reflected upon a lot of my own pain and darkness to create this character I played on the show. There were elements of me within the character...but mostly within my own exploration was an intense reflection upon myself as a man and artist as well as how I dealt with death and addiction. I got the part for the Moccasin Flats television show just months after losing my Grandmother (Mama) who raised me. My grief was played out in a LOT of my music from that period in my life and I used the TV show as an outlet to explore that. Some of it helped...some of it was painful and damaging...but educational none the less. I realize the content of this song may be intense...but hopefully with this context in which I've never really spoken about...listeners can understand this piece with a little more clarity.

Thanks to all who've inquired about this song and continue to support my music and narrative after all these years. Of course thanks to Big Soul Productions and especially Laura Milliken for giving me the chance of a lifetime so many years ago to share my art and give me a start in this industry. I was never a perfect angel at that age...I was a loose cannon with a ton of cash and no direction. But they helped me maintain and create some of my best work in my life which helped me to be where I am today and given me the inspiration to continue and create FOR LIFE.
